VARTA novellas screened at De Balie in Amsterdam
Three documentary novellas from the VARTA project were shown at De Balie, one of the leading cultural centers in the Netherlands.
In “Voices”, VARTA shows the consequences of daily Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and the crimes committed against Ukraine’s civilian population. The screening was attended by De Balie director Yoeri Albrecht and Jaap Scholten, founder of the Protect Ukraine Foundation, which provides ongoing support to Ukraine.
The screening was followed by a Q&A with representatives of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, VARTA producer Maryana Shafro and director Yevhen Matviienko. The event gave an international audience the chance to hear first-hand about the war in Ukraine and the daily struggle of Ukrainians.
Special thanks to @masliy for helping organize the VARTA screening in Amsterdam.
